Das Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf (UKD), eines der größten Krankenhäuser in Deutschland, hat WiRo Consultants mit umfangreichen Unterstützungsleistungen zum Aufbau und zur Implementierung eines Energiemanagementsystems nach DIN EN ISO 50001 beauftragt. Ein entsprechender Rahmenvertrag mit WiRo Consultants wurde bereits vor einiger Zeit unterzeichnet.

Huntsman’s new cogeneration facility in Italy

Huntsman has completed on 01/07/2014 its € 38 million investment within its titanium dioxide plant in Scarlino, Italy. The cogeneration installation will provide heat and power to Huntsman’s whole plant. The operation of the new facilities is expected to reduce the carbon intensity of the site by around 30%.

"Building InSigits": a special application for monitoring and energy management in the Greek chemical industry

A chemical industrial plant during its lifetime installs new productive equipment of different types and technologies, as well as develops new production processes. These events lead to non-rational use of energy. This problem was addressed from a well-known Greek chemical industry by installing a special application for monitoring and energy management known as "Building InSigits" (installation by Innoven) in order to taken the right decisions that will lead to energy cost savings.

Vitex reduces its annual CO2 emissions by 950 tons for the next 25 years

VITEX INDUSTRY

During the second semester of 2013 Vitex (Paint Industry located in Attica Greece, member of Yannidis Group of companies) completed an investment of 2,500,000 Euros by the installation of 4.158 Photovoltaic Solar Panels on Vitex’s Paint Factory facilities by which the company is reducing the annual CO2 emissions by 950 tons for the next 25 years.

Snížení energetické náročnosti ve výrobě ve společnosti Glanzstoff-Bohemia s.r.o.

Glanzstoff-Bohemia within the group GLANZSTOFF the only producer of viscose fibers. It produces exclusively technical fibers, which are used by all major tire manufacturers. The main activity of the company is the production of viscose fibers.

This investment will heat insulation of roofs, curtain walls and skylights objects relamping and other adjustments to reducing the energy intensity of production. The main expected benefits of this project include the avoidance of inefficient use of energy for heating both buildings, achieving significant savings in energy consumption while enhancing production and improving the social conditions of workers.

Grupa LOTOS power plant uses cheaper and cleaner fuel

In early 2014 Grupa Lotos converted three of the four  boilers in its powerplant to run on natural gas . By changing the majority of fuel from high-sulfur heavy fuel oil to natural gas meant that sulfur dioxide emissions have declined approximately 90%.

Worlée leads the way on energy efficiency in medium companies

Worlée-Chemie, with three sites in Germany, has continually sought to reduce its energy consumption in every business area of the company. During the last 10 years, they have been able to increase energy efficiency by 20% percent. Since 2013, Worlée’s energy management has been certified according to ISO 50001. There have also been a significant number of investments, in for example, compressed air, heat recovery and process heating.

Summary: Een studie van adviesbureau Ecofys en de Routekaart Chemie 2012-2030 Energie en Klimaat van de VNCI tonen aan dat de industrie energie kan besparen door isolatieprojecten uit te voeren. DSM nam de caprolactamfabriek onder de loep. Resultaat: een jaarlijkse energiebesparing van 112.000 euro door niet of slecht geïsoleerde delen van de fabriek te isoleren. Summary: For a few years, Jindal Films, global leader in the development and production of plastic films, has developed and applied an improvement strategy for its energy efficiency. Through different projects implemented within the enterprise, significant energy savings have been realized. 4 important steps are currently being undertaken: the implementation of key performance indicators making it possible to identify and control the big energy consumers, the consumption reduction of its production processes and buildings, the recovery of energy and the sustainable production of energy. Jindal Films is saving significant amounts of energy, improving its energy efficiency with 18% in the last 6 years. This strategy, followed step by step, has proven to be advantageous on all aspects, showing a good example to be followed by others.

Construction of biomass incineration installations in chemical enterprises in Bulgaria

Summary: Bulgarian companies in the chemical industry are prepared to invest in the incineration of biomass from agriculture and domestic production to obtain the necessary energy to operate. Greenhouse gas emissions can significantly be reduced by using biomass as a renewable energy source. This simultaneously reduces the cost of energy and dependence on Russian gas supplies which are not guaranteed.

Energieeffizienz bei Bayer – effizienter Energieeinsatz durch eigenes Managementsystem

Bayer Material Science will in the future need far less energy for the majority of its global production. This is being made possible by a home-grown energy management system. Its introduction has now been completed. It enables the individual consumption of the production plants to be optimally controlled and reduced by an average of a tenth, and also brings about considerable reductions in CO2 emissions. The system, which is called STRUCTese, can also be used by other companies under license.
