Wacker Chemie and E.ON entered into a long-term agreement for the on-site production and supply of heat and power for use in Burghausen plant. The huge power and steam demand at Wacker’s site was originally covered by on-site generation in a steam power plant. To streamline the energy supply, the existing steam power plant was extended and E.ON implemented several technical optimisation measures for the CHP plant.

Cefic announced on 08/10/2015 the winners of its European Responsible Care Awards, during a special ceremony at its annual general assembly in Brussels. Under the auspices of this competition Trinseo Benelux (NL) received a special commendation for its project “Energy Efficiency through steam re-compression”. The company was praised for the creative way to use steam previously blown off to the atmosphere or condensed against cooling water at its site in Terneuzen (NL).

Phosphoric Fertilizers Industry SA (PFI) was founded in 1961 by the Commercial Bank Group and started operating in 1965 at Nea Karvali in Kavala. In 2000, the two most important fertilizer manufacturers in Greece, PFI and Chemical Industries of Northern Greece SA, merged to form Greece’s largest chemical company. In September 2009, PFI SA was acquired by ELFE SA, a company controlled by a private equity fund.

At present, there is a significant ongoing investment programme in the maintenance and improvement of production divisions, warehouses and packing facilities, at the Kavala plant.

Breda was replacing the fixtures every few years.
