sviluppo chimicaThe primary objectives of the Federchimica Group are the coordination and the protection of the role of the Italian chemical industry as well as the promotion of its development capacity.

 

 

 

 

Among its duties are:

  • to elaborate guidelines in economic, industrial and trade union matters and also in the areas of environment, innovation and energy policies;
  • to promote these policies with public authorities, national/international economic and other entrepreneurial organizations to whom the federation belongs, trade union leaders, environmental and consumer organizations;
  • to contribute to the establishment of an accurate image of the chemical industry in the public opinion;
  • to carry out studies and projects which inspire and legitimise entrepreneurial choice; and
  • to contribute to the constant promotion of the level of quality of the companies associated, with a particular attention to the organization of initiatives in the field of innovation.

Federchimica has 17 associations, which serve 41 product groups, including more than 1,350 companies.

The aim of the associations is to care for the treatment of problems of specific interest to the associated companies by means of the appropriate types of contributions when it is necessary. Each association has autonomous responsibility within the sphere of Federchimica.

SC Sviluppo chimica S.p.A aims at improving the competitiveness of the chemical industry through the support of the "operational excellence" of associated chemical companies and by offering products - such as publications and software - and professional services - such as consultancy on funding and the organization of specific training services - in several technical and functional areas: safety, product management, and industrial hygiene; transport and logistics; energy, environmental performance and sustainable development; R&D and venture capital for regional/territory development, IT support, industrial relations and collective labour agreement, and finally, outsourcing of administrative services.

giuseppeGiuseppe graduated cum laude from Naples' University in 1973.

He was Responsible for the energy and climate change area at Federchimica, the Federation of Chemical Industries in Italy. Previously, he has been a plant manager in Porto Marghera (Venice) for Ausimont S.p.A., R&D and technology vice president at Ausimont USA Inc. in Morristown, NJ and HSE manager for Ausimont Group, with seven plants in Italy, the United States and Germany. At present, he is chairman of the Energy Efficiency Issue Team and member of the Climate Change and Energy Strategic Groups of Cefic, the European Chemical Industry.

paoloPaolo has been project development manager since May 2005, and he has been working in other companies participated by Federchimica since 1999. Within the activities of the Responsible Care programme, managed on behalf of Federchimica, he supports the commercial development of offered services, evaluating financial and economic impacts of improvement associated with the evolution of performance indicators in HSE and energy.

He is responsible for the management and control of auditing and training services for matters such as energy efficiency offered to chemical companies associated with Federchimica.

Within the energy sector, he has been involved in the past as financial analyst in charge of financial evaluation of investment opportunities for chemical and non-chemical companies.
